I have just bought DS2's friend (a girl) a Me! etc school kit for her birthday, I hope it's age appropriate as capture the magic wasn't clear. However, also have to get something for a 6 year old boy, want crafty, ideas please? Mum is training to be an infant school teacher, so likely to be the sort to join in.

Actually Sam made 12 Valentines cards the other night, he's quite clever at it too- gave him bag of lots of stuff, he tore a piece of corrugated card about 2 X 0.5 inch, stuck a dried leaf on top, mounted on gold card then stuck on an orange card- palm tree! Really simple, I was so jealous!

But what actually can you buy to suit, that's the thing? Hmmm, JM! JM!! (not masses of cash either-the school avarage is £6-8 for birthdays)

Just asked DS (6) what crafty things he likes. He is always after my crafty goodies, but particually the different edging scissor, glitter glues, a box of paper/card from the paper Mill always goes down a treat! ( A boy of my own heart!)

Funny how it's so female stereotyped isn't it? I did come across a few cardmakers on docrafts who were male, but they were usually (I think invariably but don't want to be sued) gay. Are craft shops really that intimdating? Or is it just the fat blokes who used to do the craft demos on TV?

Works is a good idea, as is the scissors. Any more ideas gratefully accepted....

Peachy I have a pair of edging scissors here if you want em.
My guys love making little scrapbooks. They have about 4/5 each on the go....must take after their mum...LOL!
They use them to keep their special things in...DS1 has one with piccies of him playing footie and all the tickets from the matches he goes to see with his godfather.DS2 has a skateboard scrapbook...filled with mag cuttings of his fav skateboards, boarders and some piccies of him on his board.
How about buying a small box an filling it with the bits he would need to make his own scrapbook????

Don't have a paper mill but works here does the same box idea.
