just wondering really! what items have you made and when do you find the time?

i've made a few items for the summer such as linen trousers, skirts etc. i think linen looks great on kids but hate the cost of them.

I made dresses for the dds about three years ago. I had never sewn any clothing using a pattern before and I was really pleased with the results - they actually looked ok!

Not done it since though - simply too expensive

I occasionally knit stuff for them with wool from the pound shop - I did a fab lilac cardi for dd2 - it has hearts round the bottom and frills everywhere - it cost £3.40 to make including buttons!! (my kinda price)

Hi Miaou ... you're just multi talented!!

DH thinks i could turn my skills into something more profit making ... not sure but i do enjoy making the clothes and the market for girls is so saturated.

but will be making some linen trousers for DD2 this summer, might also do some dresses ... have spent that last few hrs looking at overlocking machines on the internet!!

how are you?? i havent had chance to go through the post-natal thread and feel a little out of touch with everyone, so many new names and dont really know where to start.... DD2 causing lots of stress by not sleeping in the night but does go down at 7pm a treat.

Thanks for the offer blossom! But my girls are 8 and 7 so probably a bit big for any of your patterns

Come and post on the postnatal thread ... I like seeing you on there! I think it's probably par for the course that we will pick up new members as the time goes by. Or just shout me and we'll chat!

Glad to hear dd2 is ok - I'm having similar issues with ds - he is a good sleeper, hardly ever cries etc, but wakes for feeding during the night loads - at least three or four times! We are going to get tough with him - keep putting it off (small house with thin walls) but I really must do it. We are cutting down on his daytime naps to see if that helps too.

IKWYM about the sewing thing - I looked into knitting toddler jumpers as a sideline, but decided for the time it took to make them it just wasn't cost-effective. Dresses are so fab to do though - it made me feel so proud to see my dds in their handmade outfits and they got loads of compliments! dd1 won't be seen dead in a dress now though !
