I'm feeling brave...

Right, I've decided to be brave and upload my first attempts

I'd love some constructive criticism, but please be gentle

The things I know went wrong are:

No title on Mauritius layout
Wobbly ribbon placement on second valentine card
Flowers on sleepover invitation not perfectly in line.

I would also really like to know how to rotate the image in the gallery. And I think I've put my album in the wrong place - sorry

my photos

Nice !Liked the first footie one & the pearly valentine. The colours are really bright too & match well

Soapbox...they are miles better than anyhting i did in my first 6 months. Really lovely--and i recognise some of those papers. I ahven't used mine yet, cos they all look so lovely in the nice big squaers, i just want to keep them to look at.

Once you put the pics on the gallery you can't rotate them but I have turned them for you by, saving them to my pC then using my camera software to rotate them. i'm sure soemone will come along and tell you how to do it a better way tho' as mine is a bit long winded.

when you have put pics onto Yahoo, it saves them as a huge image which we need to delete as it takes up too much space. i ahve done these ones for you but if you remember next time to delete the full size image...the option appaers above and slightly to the right of the indidvidaul images. JM and I are quite good at spotting them anyway but it would help if you could do it as you go along. Thansk

Did you turn them round for me?

How did you do that?????

Ah! Thanks AQ!

I did rotate them in Camedia before loading them, but when loaded they kept reverting back to the original image. Will ask DH if he can help!!

I'll try to remember to delete the full size option

with my software you have to save them once you have rotated them otherwise it goes back to the original.

i am going to make some now- you have inspired me. thanks

Soapbox you have done well, I have scrappers block!

I think you have used a good range of materials on your card, i.e. ribbon, flowers and brads? That does add a quality to a hand made card- it's often the little touches that make cards have a wow factor.

Most of the time I try to deliberately not put things in a straight line- it's easier and looks as if it's meant to be that way. in fact most times I end up pulling 'mats' off beacuse they are straight in one dimension but not two.

But I also agree they are far better than my first cards.

PeachyClair · 20/01/2006 20:40

They're great, soapbox. Really pretty.

Well done

(have some of mine to upload, but scanner not doing it and camera dying rapidly. )

I do have to confess that the first valentine card was actually made by DD who is only 7!

I cut the mat for her, but other than that she did it all herself!

I might upload her Mauritius layout too - it is quite good

Pootle - that is a good point about the lines - will go and have a look at other people's work in the gallery again and see if I can pick up some more tips
