Pair of scooters with tin cans/Just Married on the back?

kiwibella · 18/01/2006 18:03

oh, yes... I once saw a wedding card which had a tin can lid on it, you know the sort which peels neatly off (baked beans??).

kiwibella · 18/01/2006 18:05

that site is cool, Hausfrau! It seems that ties are important both for money and luck.

How about the lyrics of an italian love song printed in the background with two ties knotted together....ribbons tied together are a big thing and as said ties are really important.

My fav song is Volare...had this at my wedding

Sometimes the world is a valley of heartaches and tears,
And in the hustle and bustle, no sunshine appears,
But you and I have our love always there to remind us
There is a way we can leave all the shadows behind us.
Volare, oh, oh! cantare, oh, oh, oh, oh!
Let's fly way up in the clouds, away from the maddening crowds
We can sing in the glow of a star that I know of
Where lovers enjoy peace of mind
Let us leave the confusion and all disillusion behind
Just like birds of a feather, a rainbow together we'll find
Volare, oh, oh cantare, oh, oh, oh, oh!
No wonder my happy heart sings, your love has given me wings
Your love has given me wings, your love has given me wings

Mentre il mondo pian piano spariva lontano laggi-
Una musica dolce suonava soltanto per me
Volare, oh, oh! cantare, oh, oh, oh, oh!
Nel blu, dipinto di blu, felice di stare lass-
Nel biu, dipinto di blu, felice di stare lass

I live in Italy and your right the Italians aren't big on cards and there are really expensive. Weddings are very similar to weddings in England but often have local traditions. I'd go with the area thing and find out where they are going in Italy.

layla · 19/01/2006 12:49

Ooh goodie this is great peeps thanks a bunch.I was hoping they were going to Pisa so I could do a leaning wedding cake but they are going to Venice so the gondola idea is fab.I want to make it really over the top with a cherub and ribbons as I read the link about wedding traditions which was really interesting.

I love the songs just beautiful. Is the Italian word for love amore?

I love the idea of Florence from the magic roundabout lol.Someone today told me to stick some pasta on it.Brill must make it tonight now.

Make a gondola out of chopped up spaghetti

kiwibella · 19/01/2006 18:34

post a pic when you are done, Dingle. I'd love to see what you decided.

PeachyClair · 19/01/2006 18:58

Just do two tuxedos and splatter tomato sauce on the shirts
