Would you say these would be easy to sell

I'm going to be stamping some candles with these really lovely stamps I've managed to find online.

What I was wondering was does anyone know if there's any problem selling these as they're not my stamps (like I didn't design them)

The MIL didn't think there would be a problem with that but was just wanting to get a second opinion (not that I don't believe her or anything Hmm )

Hopefully someone will have some advice :D

Thanks,
xx

I don't think there'll be a problem...it's like fabric...I can buy some designer fabric, make purses and sell them. The designer can't/won't complain...it's to be used WITHIN crafting.

Tis not the same as taking a piece of art work such as an image...like a famous cartoon character...and then putting that on a candle. THat's why certainn images have the TM sign on them...because that image is Trade Marked.

Pressed send to fast! The TM sign is like copyright...so unless that's on your stamps you're fine and your MIL is wrong.

It depends on the maker of the stamp. Some are copyrighted. Some have angel policies. I.e. they allow you to sell your own unique work but not stamp loads of images and sell just the stamped images. Does that make sense?

Flowerydems · 18/01/2012 22:15

BandOMothers - Thanks for that

StuckUpTheFarawayTree - That does make sense yeah, Had a look on the distribution site and they're under an Angel policy so I assume it's alright then??

Sorry if I seem paranoid, just trying to make a bit of pin money and had a bit of a panic. Blush

You're right to panic, as it's illegal in some cases. Hope you do well.

I just looked up Angel Policy and all the companies who have an Angel Policy on their stamps seem to have different rules. Some state that the sstamp may only be used on up to 50 items to sell...I assume this is to stop large companies taking advantage. You will have to access a copy of the policy and read it.

BandOMothers - just double checked and this ones policy is for 500 per design, dont think i'll be making that much

Thanks for checking though :)
