DS2 is 3.8 and goes to a school nursery every morning.

He's got his first homework which is to produce a weather collage using as many recycled materials as possible.

I've got a few scraps of material, bits of ribbon and buttons aswell as the usual household recycling but could do with a few ideas of what we could use and some innovative ways of doing it please!

I'm not craft-shy but would never have made a Blue Peter presenter with my lack of imagination Grin

Rainbow using bits of old magazine? Raindrops from silver foil/pie dishes (careful of rough edges). Or buttons for raindrops? Could use the scraps of material for a house or a person standing in the rain with a colourful umbrella.

Or get him to stick LOTS of cotton wool on a piece of A4 paper and call it fog Grin.

LOL Korma - I'd had the same idea for a blizzard!! That's my standard!

Anyone else with more imagination than me?!

Golden jar lid can be the sun, the bottom of an egg carton can a cloud if you do some cutting around it and then be painted blue, black or white depending on what kind of weather you want.

and the plastic windows on envelopes can be crinkled into puddles, or raindrops or even snow.

I'm liking that idea!

DS seems to want to do a stormy collage, but with sun and a rainbow too so I'll get saving envelope windows!

attach the 'raindrops' on lengths of cotton and sew onto a felt cloud

zig zag lightening from foil
