And if so, how hard is it really?

Ravelry rates it below medium but I have never made more than a hat or booties. The real low down before I part with £3.95 to buy it would really help me out!!!

Ta muchly!

The pattern I used for the hat was done by Bonnie Jacobs, she suggests worsted wool, which is actually in between DK and aran. I used aran and adjusted my needles to get the correct tension.

Ah thank you. Now here is my problem - will be buying the wool in Germany and I don't know what DK, worsted or Aran are called in Germany Grin ... maybe I should hold of buying the wool until I am next in the UK!

It shouldn't be too hard. You know that you need a tension of 17 stitches and 21 rows worked on 5.5mm needles. Don't worry too much about the rows but try to find a wool that has a similar stitch count. I'm sure if you go into any shop with 17 stitches x 21 rows on 5.5 needles written down, you will find someone who can help. Out of curiosity I had a look at a couple of German online shops to see if it was obvious (schoolgirl German) only to find they appeared on my screen in English!

Where there's a will, there's a way! Smile

Quick question if any knitters are about right now...

I've bought the pattern for the children's owlet jumper but my computers playing and I can't access it. I'm about to go to hobbycraft and really wanted to get the wool and needles but can't see what I need now. Can anybody tell me pls? I need to know the circular needle size(s) and also what wool thickness.

I've got about 45 mins til I get to the shop, be great if someone could get back to me before then... Otherwise it'll be at least a week til I get to a wool shop and I wanna start the jumper ASAP :)

Thanks!

I am working on Kate Davies Owl sweater A bit confused with #4 directions..........I understand that one of the two markers is the start How can you follow it?It says ti knit to within 3 stitches from that marker??//Little confused!!!!!!!!!

kellestar · 29/08/2013 07:57

I think it means to work to three stitches of marker 'A' and the same with Marker 'B'.
