How hard is card-making, exactly?

I bought a copy of "Let's make cards" because it had free stuff in and I thought "How great, I can throw together some cards and save myself a shedload of money", but now I'm sat here with all this stuff spread out in front of me wondering where the hell to start. Unless I'm missing something the magazine isn't much help and assumes levels of knowledge and stash I don't have Confused and uses terms I've never heard of!

How can it be this hard to stick stickers on card? Or is it not actually that difficult once you get stuck in?

Ignore the rules, just make up a design you like and stick it down.

It might help if you decide to make a card for a specific person, eg. sister, favourite colour pink, likes flowers, member of Butterfly Conservation - get the idea of how to start?

I agree. I used a stamp from a mag. Just buy ink!
