Had another rotten day. My mum had an operation on her arm yesterday,looking like they can't use her arm for dialysis for about a fortnight. They don't want to send her home with the groin line in so she is either stuck in hospital for another 2 weeks...or she has to have yet another operation to try and put a different temporary line in!!
Had Amelia's eye check this afternoon,and she was a little monster. Didn't want to co-operate at all. Wouldn't wear the glasses blacking out one eye.....etc....and now I need to take her for a "proper" eye test at an optician. God only knows how she will deal with that..or me for that matter!!....just a rotten, rotten day.

BUT as I was leaving to collect DS from school, a big van turned up with a parcel for me!!!! It was part of my sizzix order...lovely, lovely...at least it put a smile on my face. Can't wait to play now!

aww Dingle lovey...your poor Mum.I hope she is soon back home. It must be such a worry for you.
Have you tried havning a chat with your local optocian re Amelia? Ours is fab with J.....we set up a few visits first so that he could just go and have a look around...mess about with a few things and then when he was settled we manage to get him to sit for the eye examination.
Is she having the drops??? If so take some sun glasses for her to wear afterwards as the light really does hurt....better still take her to a little shop and let her choose some funky girlie shades as a treat beforehand. Wishing you luck...little ones and eye appointments just dont go togther at the best of times.

So come on tell....which dies arrived????

We have only ever had her eye checks with the othoptist at the CDC. They are very basic, just bold black and white line diagrams held up from a distance!! She has certainly never had to cope with machines or drops!

The CDC have recommended an Optician who deals with a lot of kiddies with SN. I have booked both Amelia and DS in as he missed the routine eye-check at school when he first started.

I haven't got all my odrer yet, but that will give me something to look forward to!
So far I have got;
the rivet frames (I like the look of those!), square combo frames, trad bookplates,super scallop tag and sculpting lilac....and my long awaited for GAW set!
