Hi, I've never posted on this arts and crafts bit before so bare with me...

My sister is making her own wedding invitations (wedding in July) and she doesn't know how to make the writing bit inside them. She thought if she could get one printed out then she could photocopy the rest. But does photocopiers just take the plain white A4 paper or can she out cream paper in? and the invites are small and square, she wanted to know how to photocopy them that size. If any of you have made invitations before perhaps you could let me know how you made them and how you figured out the writing bit? You know the wrods that says: Mr & Mrs invite you to attend the wedding of their daughter to Mr * ???

A lot of wedding websites have the writing template on there, I just put ' Mark and Clair invite you to join them at their wedding, whcih will be held at hornsbury mill, Chard on 11th march 2000, at 2 p.m.. There will be a celebratory reception and disco atafterwards at the same venue' (sorry about infor- can't be arsed faking it!), more formal wording easy to find on net though- think it goes ' X and Y cordially invite Z to the marriage of their daughter X to A. At (place) on (time and date).

As for the invites, a printer will do it for a surprisingly cheap amount or they can be done on a printer easily. The way I do it I just set WORD landscape, 2 columns, type half way acros second column then fold in half and trim. I suspect someone on here will have posh setting though!

I usually tear (or as we arty types put it 'feather') the edges, then rub a gold ink pad alon g the edge (any colour will work to match the theme) which gives an expensive hand amde look with no effort at all.

I printed out all the inserts (complete with mail-merged names) onto cream paper on the office laserjet printer and then guillotined and folded them. And then my mum and I glued them into the cover part!
