It's not that I am a prude, I just thought he looked cold...

Does the, er Hare (?) have a little white bobtail...?

DillyTinsel · 20/12/2011 09:16

Yes it is a Hare. Not quite sure what the significance of a hare and a Minotaur is! No bobtail for the hare (yet!).

That is very funny!!

I know where that is too -recognise it from shopping trips there.

KnottyJustForChristmas · 20/12/2011 09:32

Dilly, that's brilliant. Stop his, er, Minotaurhood getting a bit chilly. Very thoughtful Xmas Grin

Poor thing - its been stolen. Some people have no compassion!

Perhaps they were in greater need.

Now, onto that bobtail...

I made DD a pompom bunny tail at the weekend. I am considering making lots and "selling" them as an all weather snowball fight.

Tell me how you stiffened your snowflake! I've made some snowflakes and the spray starch I tried just doesn't do the job.

StitchingMoss · 20/12/2011 17:33

Used to live there! Weird statue isn't it?

DillyTinsel · 20/12/2011 19:30

Yes v strange!

Re snowflakes, I just used a fabric stiffener from a craft shop. You paint it on, it's a bit like glue. In fact you could probably just water down some glue and use that.

Wrt the snowflake, I also find using cotton yarn, rather than wool or acrylic, is best when you need things a little firmer.

I made mine with some left over bamboo from a baby blanket. It did work Ok with the starch but they weren't stiff. I did wonder about using glitter glue - I have some that's clear with an irridescant glitter in it. I was worried it might go yellow with age though.

DoesntChristmasDragOn · 20/12/2011 19:42

I did look in Hobby craft for stiffener but couldn't find any. Which is not to say I didn't come out with an assortment of other stuff Hmm

DillyTinsel · 20/12/2011 20:39

Xmas Grin Mine was from an independent craft shop, but Hobbycraft sell something called Modge podge which is a sort of all purpose varnish/stiffner. Not used it myself though. If you were to use glue I'd dilute it with a bit of water. You can dilute the stiffner I've got. Just looking at my bottle and it's this stuff.
