Type of felt for felt food please?

Does it make any difference?? I'm bamboozled by different types of felt and was just going to use acrylic felt. It's for a present though, so wanted to make it look as nice as possible. Should I be using something with more wool in or will that not stand up to general toddler misuse?! Thanks in advance

I find 100 per cent wool felt is much better to sew with as it doesn't pull apart at the seams like some cheap acrylic felt. On the down side wool felt is expensive but worth it.
