Help! Want to make an angel but my creative side has gone AWOL. All ideas appreciated!!

I made my mum a (pretty hideous) angel for the top of her Christmas tree a very very long time ago when I was still at primary school.

It has fallen apart and she has asked me to make her another one. I don't really know where to start. I have seen some kits on the internet but I kind of want it to have a proper homemade feel.

I will be roping DS (nearly 5) in to help me and so that I have a lovely excuse for the fact that the finished article will probably rather rough around the edges !!

Can anyone help me with ideas please?

Cut, glue and Bob's your Uncle :)

Erm, large circle of thin card, decorate freely with glitter etc, cut a line into the middle of circle and wrap into a cone shape?

Not sure about head or wings though sorry.

I just logged on as I have to cut 25 angel template for a toddler craft tomorrow and I have lost the book with the instructions so your post caught my eye.

Whilst I was hunting for an alternative I found this which looks very easy and which I think I might use along with some glitter or stickers to decorate it. I am not bothering with the body shape just a head.

Still annoyed I can't find the one I used before though. It had arms and wings too all cut out of a circle.

Bertha, use a gingerbread person cookie cutter and triangle-off the bottom

Get a barbie (charity shop? - we used an Ernie from Sesame Street one year), make a big skirt out of fabric or paper and wire some wings on the back. He was beautiful!
