I want something simple, more medieval than renaissance style.

I've tried to find tutorials on the internet, but keep finding really ornate complicated things. I want something simple, something like these....

Can anyone help with suggestions, patterns, tutorials, fabrics?

It doesn't need to be perfect, in fact I'd actually prefer it to work wit a rough guide than a pattern! Any help appreciated!

I think the main thing will be getting a very thin drapey fabric. If it drapes right that's half the battle. Fine muslin might be good. Then if you do some criss-cross ribbony stuff it will great.
I would probably be looking for 1970s maxidress patterns, you can get those second hand very easily (eg on Etsy) and there are some very medieval looking ones.

What is it for? Is it stage, fancy dress party, to be worn once or lots of times....?

Well, it's kind of just for fun really!

Reached a milestone birthday, left a relationship, now feels like my time to 'play'. I've always wanted to dress like them so I just thought why not?

Yes, I had thought muslin or silk.

Great idea about maxidress, thanks. Would be very easy to attach long flowy muslin sleeves to that I think.

Will just be for at home though, not planning to wear it out and about!
