I have just started knitting squares to sew into baby blankets and I love it! Would like to progress to hats and booties etc. I know there is a lot of help on the net but would like a magazine to sit and browse through and get ideas from when I am more experienced. Which is the most helpful/easy to learn from magazine around?

Let's Knit is good - some simple patterns, some more difficult ones to help you progress and quite a modern feel to it.

Or Simply Knitting good too. Both magazines have a 'how to knit' bit at the back too for help.

I like simply knitting. Lots of patterns and a special quick knots section. The knitter is a bit more upmarket-no toy patterns or free gift on the cover!

Actually, there is a new one out which I think is called Knitting Now or Now Knit, something like that. It is only on issue 2. That is aimed at all skill levels and not fuddy duddy (avoid Knit Today if you don't like fuddy duddy)

Love The Knitter but it is aimed at giving experienced knitters a challenge, so they say, and might not be the best one to start with unless you want to think big. Smile

The Knitter is too advanced for me, but I get Knit Today, Simply Knitting and Let's Knit at the moment (magazine addict) Knit Now, the new one, is quite nice, some projects I actually fancy knitting, and good info on the patterns, eg tell you the rough cost and whether it will takes days or weeks to make.

Let's knit good for reviews of new yarns/products, I find that patterns err on the very cheesy side though. But Simply Knitting would be a good one to start with
But I am so slow that it takes me a week to do a little hat.

Thank you. Lots of choice by the sound of it.
