I think it is attic24 who mentioned it? Has anyone used it?
I really need some reasonably priced wool in gorgeous colours. Any other recommendations. I had no idea that crochet was going to be such an expensive hobby! Grin

It's the special DK that I'm asking about - just looked, they do LOADS of different sorts!

it will be screeky but at £1.99 for a 100g ball who cares!!

i can't stand knitting in acrylic but i don't mind crocheting.

what are you crocheting?

GiganticusBottomus · 26/11/2011 09:08

Screeky - good word! I haven't decided on a project in particular - at the moment I'm learning, so lots of little projects, I love the crocheted toys/amigurumi, granny squares etc.

I do love crocheting, I can knit a bit too but I find crochet a lot more forgiving and there are more satisfying small projects which I like Blush

I use the Stylecraft DK with 25% wool. Same lovely colours, and only marginally more expensive. Really not too squeaky!

PS Deramores stock the full range and are reasonably priced :).

I have used the Stylecraft Special DK, even bought the 'Lucy' pack after the Attic 24 lady, from here. It isn't squeaky or scratchy. I am using it to crochet a blanket and it is really quite soft and nice to work with.

Not all acrylics are nasty and it is good value for money too. I probably wouldn't make myself a jumper from it because there are so many other yarns I would prefer to wear but for blankets, cushions and bags etc it is good stuff.
