I used to love sewing when I was that age . How about a dolls bed set, or a needle case, a pin cushion, dolls clothes or a scarf?

Simple shoulder bag or purse (with fold over flap rather than zip)
Drawstring bags that you can store things in and hang on shaker-style pegs.Great for girls rooms.

you can use them to stich bindings / covers for diaries, notebooks etc too which makes nice home made gifts
