What glue should I use when scrap booking?

I have been making scrap books for years for my DC's but I have always just used Uhu which can make something go black, things like concert tickets and the like.

Any advice on what I should use instead?

I mostly use double sided tape for glueing paper to paper. If fabric is involved i use pva, but the ladies at my scrapbooking store use glossy accents because it's even stronger (so they tell me)
