After watching Kirsty's Home Made Britain last night, (the fluffy robin on a stick) DD is now very keen on getting into doing this, she has had a go at School too so it looks like a good Xmas present idea for her :)

its not something I know much about myself, so can anyone please point me in the right direction for a good kit or equipment to buy to make one up myself

Thanks :)

I missed the first part of the programme was it needle felting or wet felting?? Here's a beginners needle felting kit. The same site also has wet felting kits. They're fabby in Blooming felt. If anyone can help, they can.

Good old Hobbycraft had a selection of both sorts when i was in there yesterday.

Thanks both of you :)-

sadly no Hobbycraft near me :(

I have looked on their website though & can't see any felting kits at all, or even supplies - I was hoping I could find one & send DH shopping for it as he reckons there is one near his work, but not sure I trust him to come back with anything remotely like a felting kit without a picture or something to go by, with his track record I'd be lucky if I even got felt - lol

Sewcrafty I think it must be needle crafting - she used a big square short bristle brush to rest on & a sort of small spikey wire brush to push loose felt into the shape ?? - I like the look of the brush, more sturdy less prone to getting trashed by DDs now very large, nosey, kleptomaniac, chew monster of a kitten than the sponge shown in the kits on your link if I cant find anything else, I still might end up coming back to that - love the site though :) thanks
