Hello

We've had word from the peeps at innocent that some of the very lovely hats Mumsnetters have sent them came with contact details that didn't include a phone number.

Innocent are very keen to send out the promised smoothies to all hat-knitters but they do need your phone number first - so they can check you'll be in when the smoothies arrive.

So, if you knitted a hat and sent it in but think you may not have included your phone number, please mail us at [email protected].

Please put "woolly hat" in your subject line and include your name (RL or MN nickname), your phone number and a little description of your hat.

Thank you very much, MNHQ

My sister knits hats for innocent smoothies, then she buys the smoothies with hats on, collects up the hats and sends them in with the next batch she's knitted, so they go back on the bottles next time. They are just for fun, and raise money for Age Concern.

Some people can knit with their eyes closed (like my Dsis) so it's not a big deal or a waste of energy for them to do it!

I use them as Christmas decorations. It's the only time of year I ever buy innocent smoothies. And I do donate money to charity throughout the year - so any donates by innocent is extra.

They are quick to make and fun too, also a way to use up small amounts of wool. A bit of fun which helps charity.

I'm still not convinced, and the marketing didn't work for me - I didn't buy the smoothie because I didn't want to have to waste the hat! I too would prefer them just to donate to age concern without having a tiny (let be honest, pretty useless hat!). Would be interesting to know what they uplift in sales it because of the hats.

So maybe a thread with creative things to do with the hats would be good.

I like the Christmas tree decoration idea - you can buy craft bells - so maybe a few sewn on and a ribbon would like nice. Or a line with little wooden pegs and the hats attached along it!

Hello. We're going to move this thread to Arts and Crafts now - just in case some of our crafters did a hat and need to send on their details.

Lots of aggression over what is a pretty harmless bit of fun for a few hundred knitters!

I bought a few last year and all the hats are in the toy box somewhere, keeping small teddies warm. Good idea about using them as Christmas tree decs too.

Well, I feel a bit huffy that having done as requested above, I got an email back from MN Towers to say that if I wanted to promote my Woolly Hats I should get in touch with the sales team.
