My Gingerbread Cottage... What to do with it.

Has anyone ever stored their lovingly made gingerbread cottage. I made one several weeks ago (the second I have ever attempted) and it is BEAUTIFUL! Two entire evenings of baking, icing and general sweating. I really can't bear the thought of chucking it away at the end of the season - but would it really store for a year? And how would I do this? Anyone?

It's as I suspected...

Have taken a photo or two! Have had many admiring comments made. This should be enough for any girl I suppose

I suppose that if it is too dry to eat yourself, could you pick off some of the biggest bits of icing and then put the cottage out for the birds to eat? At least that way it would be going to a good purpose rather than just going in the bin, and it would look really pretty out in the garden, especially if you have snow!
