Jenk - not sure where you live - as they are not online...but we have several shops in the Sussex area called Sussex Stationers - they are selling really nice 12x12 plain matt brown albums with (not sure how many pages in, but loads..) for £7.99 - a great price, and it means that you can do stuff with the front and back covers too. Hope that helps - which it won't if you are miles away!! sorry!

I was looking online for albums yesterday. The album I got a few years ago, sitting in the back of a cupboard, was a Creative Memories 12x12.
I only ever did a double LO and then it got put away and card making took over!

I have recently got loads of 12x12 papers so I am able to get going on that one again, but I also got a book of HOTP 8x8 papers and now I I am tempted by some of the smaller albums on offer.
Confused

I have to say, that I enjoy turning out smaller albums much more - they are quicker (and cheaper) to quickly turnaround. The little "Sara Books" - small blank books are brilliant (around £4.50)- quick to do, and make a reasonably priced gift for someone, as opposed to a big 12x12 which usually is much more expensive to buy and complete. For real cheapies/quickies, try making paperbag books -I've done two now - very cheapo to do, has a different "style" to it than the others, but nice, and cheap!! I like to get my small albums completed before a family treat/holiday/event/whatever takes place, then just take the pics, get em developed and cut and stick them in - then within a couple of days of the holiday/event you have your completed album. We are off for a sneaky weekend to Sweden soon, so that will be my first project of next week, to get a little album ready for that- lots of snowy/chilly/mittens/fir trees/mugs of hot choccy scenes!! Another smaller type of album you could try (which I haven't as yet...) are the accordian type ones - they would be cheap and quick to complete I should imagine....hope this helps hun.

Just spent half an hour or so in the snow out in the garden with DH and kiddies. Come back in to have a nice cuppa and loaded some fab piccies onto the PC.....all I have on my little brain now is how to present them in a scrapbook! How sad am I!

Jenk - sorry, you had already told me you were in the North - One of the dies I have recently bought to go with my Big Shot - WHEN it arrives, is the Album cover and page one...it looks fun - VVV tiny!! - But I think I will make a few as mini birthdaycard/scrapbooks - may even use some pretty fabric as the covers (wondering how well the BS cuts fabric??)- was wondering if Sizzix would do an envelope die that would be the right size for this tiny album to into - or maybe I could alter a matchbox (large one..) idea?

jenk1 · 29/12/2005 12:03

thanks madmollie i havent thought of the smaller ones so i might try them instead, what are accordian albums btw?

accordian album
paperbag books
Ive made both and loads of sara books....have loads going spare here

madmollie · 29/12/2005 12:09

Sad I mean!!! not sas... Yeah, accordian albums you can buy ready to go - or if you are very nifty get, say 6 pieces of v thick card and stick it side by side (like an accordian..) then decorate....you could pop a nice ribbon/fastening around it to finish off... friend of mine has nice website - think she may have some accordian books go to www. totalpapercrafts.co.uk let us know if you get going on one...

jenk1 - boots had some a while back for £4.99, i think they're normally £9.99. woolies do a 12x12 photo albulms with wedding cakes and baby cardies on at one time they were going for £2.99 they were post bound so i used them for scrapping. you can always cover them/ take the deco off.
