Just wondering if anyone has been lucky enough to get theirs to play with over the Christmas hols?! - I'm still waiting for mine to arrive - should be in a few days (if the guy in the shop isn't pulling a fast one..) Have bought loads of dies and cardstock - so all I want is my new toy!! If anyone has got theirs yet - spill the beans....is it good/worth it/worth the wait?! PS - didn't want to mention "where" I ordered mine from as didn't want to start up a bit of a row concerning suppliers!! -

Loads of suppliers I have spoken to are saying early Feb for release of Big Shot. I know Carolinette has hers...she was lucky as there were only a few demo models floating around pre Christmas.
If you think about it, it makes good business sese to get the coffers in early...put them in a bank account earning interest and then make people wait for their goodies. Not nice for those waiting though is it????

UCM · 29/12/2005 13:59

JM I think you are right. Prob will be Feb. Swizz though. Did Carolinett get hers then, bloody hell!. What are they like? Must get off here and go to lidls, for pudding as we have visitors arriving in about an hour.

DoesntChristmasDragOn · 29/12/2005 14:05

Do you honestly think it's good business sense to lie to customers and say you've got them when you haven't? It would put me off using any company who did that that's for sure.

JayzMummysATurkeyStuffer · 29/12/2005 14:31

I was trying to be a tad sarcastic!!!!
Customer service should always be number 1 with any retail service...sadly it isnt in most cases.
Securing payment from those who are addicted to having the most up to date items leaves people wide open to being abused doesnt it????

JayzMummysATurkeyStuffer · 29/12/2005 15:32

look what I have just found

Have noticed that the 'craft store that's based in the town with the very famous school that has a sporting connection and also the name of a lovely gem stone' has the details of the big shot dies on their website now.

Have just been salivating even though I have only just got my sizzix!!

RUGBYCRAFTS · 29/12/2005 18:21

Yes,it's me from Amethyst or www.rugbycrafts.co.uk or ellisondesign.co.uk or even sizzixdies.co.uk
Yes I did send one to Aunt, and yes 100% of my customers who have taken delivery are very very happy, one even posted on here, untill it was removed.ANYONE wishing to safe guard (if that's the correct wording) the money, please feel free to contact Ellison (Sizzix) on 0870 6000 625 they will tell you that I had the first batch in,and the next batch will be with us in our Rugby store on or around the 10th Jan.
Happy new year to you all...ps,don't miss the 30% off ANYTHING Jan sales we will have on-line !

madmollie · 29/12/2005 20:04

Well, it's good to finally have a positive comment from the voice above isn't it.....all we have to do now is wait for our toys to arrive.. Suppose it;s another night of dreaming Sizzix in my sleep then.. or maybe not.

Skirting very close to being an advert which should be paid for.

JayzMummysATurkeyStuffer · 29/12/2005 20:47

UMMMM....there is an ad already over on small business...the one noone is posting on!!!!

WeWhizzzYouAMerryXmas · 29/12/2005 21:42

If he comes back - lets ask him his views on breastfeeding & disposables v terry nappies - this is a parenting website after all

PMSL whizz

Pixiefish · 29/12/2005 21:51

he may well have kids so we shouldn't make that an issue.
i feel really crap now as i posted about him on here first.
i found cheap dies and passed the savings on. i still have full faith in him and have been perfectly happy with everything so far.in fact i put an order in the other day for some more dies (wish i'd waited till jan now though for the extra 10%)
the way i see it is that things have been said unwisely by a few people (not blaming anyone) In view of the things that have happened on here and the fact that threads are deletd because of it i do think that we should leave our individual business dealings private.

I only recommended the store as it was the cheapest dies i've ever seen (even second hand they're dearer) and the service that I've had is good.

There are bound to be problems with the Big shot- it's a new product being launched in the Uk. There have been similar problems with the XBOX 360 (with distribution I mean not with the thing going on fire- which the xbox has)

WeWhizzzYouAMerryXmas · 29/12/2005 21:58

I know his dies are still very cheap & it was a good recommendation Pixiefish & I may well buy a few more from him
Things all went a bit pear-shaped over the Big Shot order & were not (IMO) very well handled
But I think he should stop posting stuff on these threads & stick to what he does best - selling cheap Sizzix stuff & running he shop!

madmollie · 29/12/2005 22:21

Ooh ek' twas me that started this today - I didn't mean to cause trouble - honest...I was just interested in what was going on with the Big Shot - I had no idea all this was going on!! - I shall just sit back and wait for it to arrive now..!!

Whizz- as far as i can remember initially he posted on here to promote his stuff, realised he'd done wrong and paid for an advert. Then he posted to defend himself when he was called names and slagged off. This may well have been unwise but as far as i see he was only defending himself- he was called some rather nasty names.
He has as much right as anyone to post on here though- it's an open forum

WeWhizzzYouAMerryXmas · 29/12/2005 22:49

Yes I know & want to let it lie - but he did throw some nasty names back which I thought was out of order.
No more posts from me on this subject.

----------- +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ -----------

There I've drawn the line....now no one cross it or else I wont dish out the sizzix list!!!!

RUGBYCRAFTS · 30/12/2005 07:39

In my view I like the good old throw a-away's.
Breast feeding ...well that's down to that person,at the end of the day, they say it's better for the baby.I will admit though none of my 6 kids were though.
Parenting....Where should I start..You did ask WeWhizzzYouAMerryXmas ....

FairyTaleinNewYork · 30/12/2005 08:15

ah but washables are older than the old throw aways
