Hi all,

Planned to do some Christmas crafts involving making pom-poms and am looking for some big balls of cheap wool. Unfortunately, as I don't have a brand in mind I'm finding this hard to search for online. Any suggestions?

I have been using 100g balls of acrylic, mix of Robin's DK and Stylecaft DK usually £1 a ball at the cheap shops locally. James C Brett usually do 500g balls for £5 or so. But prefer smaller balls of lots of colors for variety. Mandy Wool in Wells usually do some cheap 100g balls of acrylic, on Ithingumy so can't post links. Blush

My local Arthritis Research shop has loads of 100g Robin DK for £1.25 in a variety of garish and not too bright colours, cheaper than the market.

how about using fabric scraps instead of wool; I've made some lovely pom poms after reading this mollychicken.blogs.com/my_weblog/2008/06/index.html

Try posting on freecycle too, and have a look on ebay?

Oops! Hadn't checked back on this. Am now obsessed with the fabric pom-poms! How gorgeous are they??
