That my neighbour who works in Hobbycraft says that Boxing Day is the best day of the year for picking up bargains there.

hobbycraft also have an offer on. got a voucher yesterday that gives you 3 pound off when spending 15 pound or more. Christmas ribbon and other bits and bobs already on sale

anorak · 26/12/2005 12:02

Right, I'm off to Hobbycraft now, armed with my Christmas money and a £10 Hobbycraft voucher!

POssibly going to win award for saddest Mumsnetter of the year. I waited outside hobbycraft. Was there at 9.45 so I could get to front of queue. Only person queueing was me .

The sale was crap. All of the Christmas stuff half price. Only good thing was punches were 99p.

I went to bed early last night for this bloody sale. I have never been to shops boxing day before and shan't bother again.

Yes I've posted my bargains on the other Xmas pressies thread ! Thanks for the tip off!

Just watch out though as the receipts are confusing & I would have been overcharged by £5 had I not been adding up things when going round.

Lots of Xmas things 50% off but also other bits & bobs - small paper punches 99p, 20m of ribbon for 47p !! Packs of different paper & card also seemed good value at 1.99

20 metres!!!!! what colours were they? i luuurve ribbon

WeWhizzzYouAMerryXmas · 26/12/2005 23:53

Champs- ribbons were various colours - they are wire edged but only a bit if you see what I mean - not too stiff !
I bought yellow/orange pattern and light & dark green thinner about 2cm wide.
They ahd all sorts of colours

Champs - you are more than welcome to a couple of metres as I have no idea what to do with the stuff !!
(in case you are wondering - just come in from drinking too much wine & now off to bed) hic

OK Champs - could you cut me a few Sizzix alphabet letters (I can't remember what you said you had) so I can have a look. Maybe just some words like Baby, Party, Cake etc that will come in useful ! Just so that I can compare with my new shiney letter punches.

I have your address so will sort out some ribbon. I also have wider silver & purple ribbons that I will add too
I have your address so will sort out today if I am organised enough !

ChampsOnIce · 28/12/2005 01:47

oooo thanks whizzz. i'll do that foir ya. any colours in particular?

i've got fruit smoothie, i like it as it has shadows too so you can use the letters on their own or with the shadows so feels like you have two diff fonts/alphas

Yes UCM, it wasn't very good, was it.

Best things I could find were undecorated wreaths at £1 each and 10m rolls of tinselly twine in various colours for 99p.

I think different branches have different things in their sales, I've come across this before.

Never mind, it was still utter bliss to waste an hour wandering around Hobbycraft without kids!
