Thinking of getting DD1 (5yo) a doll for Christmas and want to make sure it's a size I can easily get or make clothes for.

Anyone got any experience or advice?

I've just has a quick look on the sirdar website and their doll's patterns are for both 12-14 inch dolls and 15-18 inch dolls. A "Baby Born" doll is listed as being 17 inches tall on Amazon so the bigger size in these patterns would be suitable for this type of doll. Tiny Tears is 40 cm - about the same size as Baby Born.

Thanks, angelpantser, that's useful.

Go for the Baby Born doll as Sirdar patterns will fit and if you can sew Simplicity have doll patterns that will fit Baby Born as well.
Also she is a lovely doll, my dd has 3 of them!
