ok, so i have the very basic idea, and have managed a length of spiral knot with some beads. now what???

What are you trying to make?

As I remember, it was mostly hanging plant holders - but I did start doing spiral knots and beads in an attempt to make a bracelet the other day, so I would be glad of ideas, too.

I started with beading elastic, which annoyingly is too narrow for fake-pandora-type beads even when macramed.

There are lots of videos online - all seem to be for hemp bracelets

i am using 1mm waxed cotton cord, i think you knot it in the same way as the hemp ones though

This was in the White Stuff catalogue of all things. Brings back a few memories of the 70's for me. I must have been craft crazy as a kid in hindsight.
