Finished the last minute orders that I had, now just my own to go! I think I have about 20 left in stock box, and we send out about 100!!

Lots to do this weekend too...hopefully travelling up to London at some point to visit my mumu in hospital...that's a whole day gone !

biglipskissinunderthemistletoe · 17/12/2005 09:29

Dingle...hows your mom doing????

She is having dialysis via a rather temperamental groin line. She can't come home with this because there is a high risk of infection. So something else needs to be in place before she can be discharged.

She had an op on her permenant line in her arm on Thursday, but they can't try it out yet. Hopefully they will try it on Monday or Tuesday and we will have to play it by ear depending on how that goes.

She is also considering home dialysis now (CAPD).She was worried about it before because again, there are stories about infection. Once an infection sets in, they can't use that line for dialysis and would have to get another line in place. They have used both sides of her neck now and the more they are used the less reliable the veins are! At least she has that option to consider, but how long that would take to get in place...who knows!

Thanks for asking JM! Amelia is driving me mad ATM too! After decorating last month, (which still isn't 100% done!) we haven't put the child gates back up. She is into absolutely everything, like a little caged animal set free. She is like my little shadow, can't even go to the toilet without her! So you can imagine what it's been like trying to make cards!

Dingle, hope next week brings good news for your mum.

Just DH's work cards left to do now (gave in and bought some for the kids school cards as they didn't want to make them and that's another 120!). Got a simple stamp on order so as soon as that arrives, they're done (a wine bottle with 'Christmas spirit' on the label, in french navy ink on torn ivory paper, edged with the same ink mounted on matt silver blanks).

Easy, but should work. Will have to, frankly!

Dingle- just read below- hope your Mum's luck improves soon.

Ding, good luck with Mum, my Dad is a bit iffy at mo (74) and my Uncle is in hosp as well.

DingleBells · 17/12/2005 22:59

Set out for the hospital at about 11.30 this morning, dropped the children off at MIL's on the way, drove part of the way and travelled the rest of the way up to London on train.
Spent a couple of hours with my mum and eventually got home just after 6pm. Quick bit of tea, put the kiddies to bed...then...

...been writing out my mum's Christmas cards!! She can't use her right arm/hand because of her op. Her left has a drip in and keeps alarming every time she moves..so I offered to write her cards out! Got them done almost..but mine are all still in pieces all over my conservatory floor! LOL
