Making a moving car- any hints or tips?

DD (only 6) has to make a moving car for her homework . i am imagining turning a handle which twists an elastic band which then unravels and makes the car go. Anyone got any ideas as to how we can do this? or any sites? electronic motors are not allowed. another idea is a balloon? i just need a site i guess but i cant find one?

Ok, you are thinking of a cotton reel racer. It will take less than 5 minutes if you have a cotton reel and an elastic band.

ooooh thank you! there was mention of a cardboard box though can that be combined with that cotton reel one?

DS1 made a balloon powered one with cotton reels for wheels, straws for axles and a body of cardboard.
