Has anyone made a desk pad?

Looking around to get one for dd's desk but the sizes arent quite right. I reckon I could make one with some cutting and sticking - would also like to make it non-slip.

Any ideas on how to do this and material sources?

I bought one at staples a few years ago it was non slip, but had a flexible top panel that you could lift up and stick things under. Like a collage, or pictures, but it won't take bulky items. Was about £10-15 for A3 size. On ipod at mo so will find a link later
