Roman blind making - dealing with window handle

I want to make a roman blind for a hall window - very narrow (about 50cm) and long (1.30m). The window is made up on 2 windows, a small square one at the top and a second one at the bottom the doesn't open. There is a handle for the top window that sirs about a third of the way down, protruding into the recess. It is probably about where the blind will stop when it's up (99% of the time). Do I just make as normal of should I change the measurements as conscious it might all end up sticking out?

Help!!

Could you not hang the blind at the front of the recess instead or at the back against the window?

I have one like that at my front living room window, I let it down each night and just give it a flick so it misses the handle, it drops down fine and pulls up fine too. or dep on how deep the recess it could you bring it forward a bit so it misses the handle?
