Bloody cards!

Having spent the last few weeks making 50ish cards to sell at a fayre - I arrived to be told there were no more tables allowed due to health and saftey reasons!! After setting aside an evening especially for this, and bribing hubby with a pizza to look after the kids, I am really bloody annoyed. What the hell am I going to do with 50 cards???

sell them on ebay

advertise a small little advert in shops

spread the word around (to your family and friends)

and i would be furious too

WHat exactly was the health & safety reason ?by the way ?

The only space available was blocking a fire exit apparently! Fair enough, but I bet they would have made a space, had I lived in the village for longer than 3 months!!! Aarrrghh.

oh no had you booked a table? or was it first come first served type thing?
how annoying for you... maybe you can sell them on here?

lumpkin · 03/12/2005 22:14

First come first served. It started officially at 4.15, so I arrived at 4. I eventually plucked up the courage to go in, and the jobsworth commitee leader said that there wasn't anymore room - rather too smugly in my opinion!!! The real pain is that I was the only person to have cards - the stalls had mostly, cakes and old lady tat like lavender bags you put in the wardrobe!

I'm sure you will still be able to sell them, handmade cards are very popular. Just means you have to try and figure out who to sell them to. Start here though

Yep, might put some on ebay. Also made up some card kits for children, to see if they would sell. Looks like I'll be taking them and the cards to work again on Monday!

How much are you thinking of charging for the kids cards kits? It might mean my kids would leave my craft materials alone!

lumpkin · 04/12/2005 18:37

I was thinking around £3 - kit includes 3 cards and envelopes, extra bits of card, papers, stick on lettering, little Xmas characters, small punched xmas trees and bells, silver snowflakes, parcels and trees, and whatever else I can find. I created them because my 3 year old daughter is always stealing my bits as well!!
