I came third in the Card Maker of the Year Competition

Im also in this months CM&P which is due out next week...so you can all get to see my ugly mush

I was supposed to be in Issue 21, but because I came third in the comp they couldnt have two mentions of my name apparently, so the feature has been postponed until Feb/March next year.

Which card was it that won????

I will go and get the mag, but offhand it was a square card, red..possible blue, gingham, pretty flower....do you know which one I mean?

Oh and if it means anything, they didn't do a readers story for the overall winner.

I have to say the bloke from Fiskars looks a bit of alright.

Apparently they had over 5000 cards, so JM you are a bloody pro!

I got the mag with the competition winners in it. Am I right in thinking JM that your design will be in the following month's mag?

Your third place card was fab BTW, and I think it was better than the other two! But then, who am I to judge? I thought that my card for the Anita's section was better than the three top prize cards!!!

I got my copy today.
I like the winning MM card.
Didnt think the overall cardmaker of the years card was that wonderful at all....but do know that the maker has her cards in the mag quite often....maybe the judges recognise styles, names etc and whittle the cards down that way????

Some of the cards that were chosen as winning cards are truely awful....what were the judges thinking off????? There are cards on our gallery that are a thousand times better.

Im waiting to hear back with a confirmed date of when the article is going to be published....MN gets a mention

I think you should all submit cards to the comps because your cards are so much better than some that were chosen as winning entries.

Just think with all the lovely new stuff you are bound to get for Christmas, you can make some fabby cards for submission.

Well have you all seen it because I liked JMs card best. AND it's not because I am biased.

But I think the idea behind the overall winners card was great. Musta cost a few bob to make and people don't usually splash out for new home cards

Somehow you could adapt it to..... wedding maybe, nah, errm. Well ok not then. But I did really like the idea.

You are right JM the overall standard wasn't kicking. However it was using specific things so I expect the suppliers put up the prize.

I have still got the cut out of your card on my wall. Yours is by far the best out of the three. It's neater, and more proportionate than say the 2nd which is far too busy up top. And sorry stampers, but the stamp in the 1st one is cack. I hate stamps. It just looks homemade, like a crap cake. And I thought that making memories was scrapbooking stuff. Since when would you use stamps for that of people.....err maybe some people do. FWIW that stamped image ruins that card for me.

Well its not actually a "sara book"...more a notebook with a plain cover and spiral binding... but can be used to make a CJ.
