I know some crafters worry about this, so i thought I'd post this.

Dh this morning got through a letter from IR saying that because his income from SELF EMPLOYMENT (not including his proper job) is below £4345.00, he has an exemption for small earnings certificate and has to pay nothing.

Therefore, you DO have to register (phone or internet- 10 minutes), but you don't have to pay anything on average crafters earnings.

HTH someone.

thats great.... i will probaby never make that in my lifetime!!!!

glad u posted that as my dad is an accountant...my brother training to be a tax inspector.... and i am always scared i will drop either of them in it if i start talking tax etc!!!

even when i've had tax credit worries...i never ask my brother as i know how funny they get if family look at other family stuff!

so i can just register....keep receipts fpor costs etc...and just feel satisfied that i am classed as 'self employed'... and feel proud!
