Making a Shower Curtain

Have any of you made your own? I'm looking for ideas and tips.

I want to make double layer shower curtain, fabric on the outside and a waterproof lining.

Would you buy a vinyl liner and just make the outer layer? If you have made the waterproof layer what fabric did you use? Was it a specific water repellant fabric or did you waterproof it?

How do you make the eyelets? Do you make two separate layers or join the layers at the top where the eyelets are?

you can buy shower curtaining material from John Lewis and the like. Or buy a large one off the shelf as long as it's big enough for your needs, to attach your own fabric onto it. Some of the ones you can buy have a weighted hem, which may be helpful.
