Cross Stitch Kits for Children

I think my dd1 (age 8) might enjoy cross stitching. Does anybody have any idea where I might be able to get suitable kits for her to try it out or any recommendations of ones that are good for her age group. Thanks

There are some on here

a few more here

and a few more here they've got them ordered by difficulty, so you could find one she could manage. (click on 6 count and 8 count for ones suitable for beginners)

I think the main thing is to make it something quite small, like one of the little animal pictures, - so she can a get a result reasonably quickly.

My DD started at that age with the horse on the first link, and gradually moved on to more difficult ones. Now she grown up and still a keen cross stitcher, it a great relaxation for her. I hope your DD finds enjoyment in it too Smile

Thanks, they look great. I hope she will enjoy them (and then that they allow needles on planes) as it should keep us occupied when we fly to Oz.

The other thing to think about is binca matting and doing an embroidery sampler in different colours... my mother still had my very first one forty years on!
