Hi

After some advice for my mum please. She lives abroad and has asked how she can make birthday cards, etc. on her computer to save the search for English language cards. She has Microsoft Publisher but was after something else ...

I know you can buy packages but have googled and there are loads of freebie packages too.

Can anyone please recommend any good sites she can look at?

Thanks very much

Computer is least useful item when making cards, IMHO, but one can buy sets of items to stick on cards from lots of places like scrapbook sites or craft shops and stationers.

Agree with Shodatin you can do lots of lovely stuff far more easily with trims, lace, dried flowers, leaves & felt shapes etc etc than with the computer, especially if your not so computer savvy

That said, if your Mum is into photography at all, then she could use her own pictures to make the cards on the computer, I've done that with a combination of word & photoshop - sorry can't recommend any sites though

Thanks both of you for the replies. I think she would be better making them as she is quite arty but she specifically wanted a computer program (despite not being particularly computer savvy). I think I will ask her why she wants a computer program - I think it is because her friends all print their own cards.

I like the idea of buying her crafty type things - there's always something to buy her for birthday / christmas / mother's day etc!

Thanks again
