urgent - ideas required

hi there

It's almost time for St Nicholas for those of us who live in Europe and tonight I have to go along to ds playgroup to decorate his pressie from st Nick. APparently we are being given wooden boxes with hingedlids and have to paint them and then varnish for the children - they will then be given these with some sweeties etc in at their party at the start of next month.

ds is like every 3 year old man for cars and I wanted to decorate the box so as it looked kike a car......can see how I could do the sides and the ends, but how would i paint the top?

any other good ideas?

paint it a bright colour and put a panel on it in a different colour then do a number on it (maybe a 3 for his age) .. so it looks like a racing car

or do a sunroof .. but I don't think 3 year olds are that bothered about a sunroof

you could, if artistic, do a roof rack effect with a load of brightly coloured presents tied on to it

good idea - need to see what kind of shape the sodding thing is first. I'm working on the assumption that it is rectangular - could be a cube for all I know which will scotch my plans a wee bit
