I'm trying to make a block pattern for myself but I can't get my head round this step here

The dart calculation has lost me! So my half chest measurement is 40cm so what the hell is my half dart???

I understand where I am drawing the line but not the actual length.

Someone must be able to help, please oh please

I'm glad it's not just me.

I hate not being mathmatically minded but at least I know I'm ok at making stuff! Google here I come..

It's not that long ago I did the maths higher GCSE, and I don't get it. Grin

My brain just exploded too ......& I've over 20 years professional pattern cutting & grading experience Confused

but IF I'm understanding you correctly, you are just needing to know how to grade the size of dart? -

if so - a bust dart will grow 0.3mm (1/8") for every size which is 2.5cm(1") across the front & again on back

IS that what you are needing???
