Hi

I am organising a street party for the royal wedding.

We have tresle tables. It's going to be with luck in the street with is a long terraced street.

I have bought red, white and blue table cloths.
Red white and blue ballons.
Red and white balloon sticks
100 metres of bunting union jack. We had some other coloured bunting already.
Red white blue 15mm ribbon 25 metres
Red white blue 40mm ribbon 25 metres
red white blue plastic tape 50 feet.

Was gonna put ballons on sticks and attach the 15 mm ribbon for the Kids. Not sure about the 40mm stuff. Maybe aske local
florist if they could make it into bows and put on railings in street? Make medals for fancy dress?

I am not very craft but can follow instructions. Any ideas?

Any diy stuff I can do to add to the event?

Paper crowns? Tips

thanks
Sarah

you could make large rossettes for decorations really easy. You would print out say a picture of the royal couple and mount onto a card circle as big as you want. Then cut strips of crepe paper and sellotape around the outside, pleating as you go. I did something similar for a birthday party like these on the windows if you scroll down you will see what I mean, also i would have lots of red white and blue srtips of crepe hanging down from them. They would be very effective. you could even do some saying 'xxxx Street Royal Party 2011'. You can do small ones and put on sticks to set along the tables in vases or empty tins.
