yay for you UCM... have fun making them and revel in the pride of preparing an order. Hope its the first of many for you.

Scaryskribble · 28/10/2005 22:24

Heres my site here Sweet Enough I done quite a bit to it over the last week and I can now take credit card payments which will help. The party bag bit was done in a bit of a rush because that what she wanted to order, but I will have to get more pictures done of the bags.

champs · 28/10/2005 23:54

oh yes!! forgot memory not as good as it once was

nosey poke question, is credit card payment facilities hard to set up?

Scaryskribble · 29/10/2005 18:59

It was actually easy to set up through Paypal, its not a shopping cart thats harder. You just register with them and you are only charged a percentage for each transaction. There are different grades of account.

The customer places order through my order forms on my site.
I can send an invoice/ bill through Paypals site to their e.mail address.
They pay direct to Paypal account through either their own account or credit/debit cards so I never see card details. I get an e.mail from Paypal to tell me i have had a payment.
I then can withdraw money from this account to my own bank account.

Anyway I think I have ruined my first order, I replyed straight away to their enquiry but I didn't realise the return address was where it was forwarded from not the customers own e.mail. I have now replyed and explained but it might be too late . I wan't make that mistake again.

MrsForgetMeNotFul · 29/10/2005 21:53

i use paypal alot (i buy and sell on ebay)...and in 4 years i have had NO problem with it...and i have done maybe 400 transactions!!!!

Just thought i'd mention to 'boost' your confidence on the money side of things!

undercoverwitch How have you done with your order then better than me I hope .

undercoverwitch · 31/10/2005 21:48

Hi, am just back from Halloween at Pontins. It was great, but when I came back, I had shedloads of cards to make as my friend is throwing a 'candle party' tomorrow and I made loads of cards this afternoon. I went into my 'room' at 1pm and came out at about 8pm. Only made 10 cards. The modern one, which no one could see will be in gallery in about 5 mins. We had trick or treaters and gave them apples because I hadn't got around to having sweets and stuff. I am totally halloweened out.....

Don't worry once you start to sell your cards and its not just a hobby you will fine tune things, I still can't believe when I started my stall I weighed all the sweets into handmade cellophane cones. It took hours. Looked amazing though .
The next year I got the right size gusseted bags and still hand tied them, Next year I got pick and mix for the summer and a bag sealer for the Christmas sweets.
