Hi you lot. I went to settle DS last night and fell asleep. Was prob the bottle of slurp I drunk. Your cards are lovely by the way. Feel a bit sheepish cos' was so excited. Never mind.

Well I cannot work out how to make mulberry paper fur. I have just posted a wedding card on yahoo and for the life of me can't get it to fur at the edges the way you laydees do..... any advice.

Aah, don't worry ucm.

Use a cotton bud dipped in water to wet where you want to 'fur'. Then hold a ruler against the edge and pull away. The paper needs to be quite wet but it dries fairly quickly.

Ta Poot. The card I made is ok (is under swarscards by the way) but would have looked a lot better with furry edges!!

ucm!! took me ages to get this right. someone (wizzz? AQ? JM??)sent me some for a chalenge and i messed it up. i tried pulling it but got a good tip to tear it after wetting which helped. I love the soft girly look.

Well I invested in a metal ruler last week and when I tried pulling it dry, it literally came away as a straight edge. It was pants to be honest. Errrrrrm wondering now whether to take the topper off card and do it again......

The paper does need to be very wet when you tear.

UCM. I never use a ruler to feather my edges. The water line you draw should be enough to seperate the paper. I pull gently to seperate the fibres in the paper and get a feathery edge every time

OUCH!!!! Craft knife cuts are sore

ouch!! not that it helps now, but use tweezers to get ds backing off instead of a knife. hope finger feels better.
