overlocker - is it worth it?

So I have decided I want an overlocker and on very limited funds!!

I have a brilliant sewing machine so only want it for edging fabric to give it a neater edge and stop fraying. I'm only going to be making baby/kids cotton clothes.

So would something like this do the job??

here
or here

I don't want to spend a huge amount as it may be that I don't actually sell anything!

Thanks

ok don't waste you time answering to my above question as after a bit of research it seems they are rubbish. Will keep an eye out for something better second hand.

After a lot of outbid bids I got a cheap used one off Ebay. Not one of the sew + edge ones - just an edging one (if you know what I mean!). I use it to neaten edges when I make duvet & cushion covers etc and I do feel that it makes them "appear" more professionally made

I think (from doing some research before I got mine) that it's better to get a decent overlocker secondhand, or just not bother at all and use a zigzag stitch on a standard machine, than it is to buy a cheap overlocker. Mine is a kind of mid-range one (it's this Frister and Rossman one), and I can see, now I'm used to it, what the benefits of having an even better one would be. Saying that, mine is relatively simple to thread (for an overlocker), and it's coped well with everything from finishing the edges of a range of fabrics to sewing t-shirts for DS from pretty thin jersey.

thanks for the info, I have used an industrial one before so why I was seduced by the cheap plastic one I'm not sure! I'll hold off until I can afford something better.
