The Lost Zip

OK, I tried this in Style and Beauty and it died a total death - so am hoping you guys can help me.

My three-year-old DS has zipped off and lost the zip handle? don't know what else you'd call it - the zippy bit, anyway - for his winter jacket. It's a good one, that I was hoping would last through next winter and survive for his brother. Does anyone know whether it's possible to buy zip bits on their own, and if you can, how you match them for size, zip tooth width etc?

Many thanks indeed if anyone can help!

I'm afraid there is nothing for it but to put a new zip in or find someone who can do it for you. Sorry

If its the zip head then you have to get a new zip put in.

If its the little handle bit that you grip to open/close then sometimes you can get away with a paperclip to pull it along. If you are handy with a needle you could cover the p.clip with some woven tape.
