I have a lovely oatmealy coloured merino wool sweater,that has gone holey around the arm seams.I've repaired it once,but it has gone again.I can't quite bring myself to bin it as it is lovely and soft,so if anyone can reuse/recycle it,I'm happy to post it to you free.

Why don't you make it into a cushion cover? It would be lovely and soft when laying watching tv.... Smile

I second morsbagmum, or you could felt it and make a hot water bottle cover or something. G'wan!

If you don't want to then I will happily take it and see what I can do with it :)

Ooh,a cushion cover does sound lovely,but,I have so many UFO'S [Un Finished Objects] that I just know I'll have the best intentions,but it will join the patchwork quilt,beaded rings,felt applique cushion cover and motley other projects in the spare room to do pile.

PM me your address Bumperlicious,and it is yours.

I have a brown cashmere one in a similare state. Does anyone know if I could unpick it and crochet with the wool? {apologies for thread hijack}

Bumperlicious · 06/03/2011 19:41

Theoretically, though I have never done it. You'll probably want to try and unpick the seams first.

Mirage, I've PMed you :)

Thank you, Bumper, I will see how the unpicking goes when I finally give up on the jumper for gardening in!
