Any knitters out there who can help?

I am totally useless knitting wise (DH's wedding anniversary scarf lets in more cold than it keeps out!)

I need to get some knitted breasts made for a BF support group I run, I have this pattern but just can't do it.

Is there anyone who can knit them for me? I will pay for wool/stuffing and time and can also supply chocolate for the trauma of having to knit boobs!

TIA

How many and by when? might be able to helpwith one or two but my knitting time is severely hampered by 4mo ds atm!

blueberryboybaitonSafari · 27/02/2011 20:41

Nomore - a couple would be perfect but only if you truly have time. If you are sure let me know how to send you some money for the bits you will need.

Do you want them boob coloured? Only I could do them from wool I already have if you don't mind them being non-skin coloured!

purplepidjin · 27/02/2011 21:01

I can't knit for toffee but can crochet! If you can get me the wool I can crochet some, like nomore - or I've got dark brown and black wool already, for that stereotyped multicultural look Hmm

blueberryboybaitonSafari · 27/02/2011 21:13

Nomore - any colour would do as it then stops us being branded un-pc by the local chilldren's centre bigheads if we provide only one flesh tone!

Purple - thank you if you pm me your address I will get you some wool and let me know your choccie preference too.

Nomore - can you also PM me you details and your preferred choccie and how much cash you want.

I have scraps left over too, so multi-coloured alien boobs are not a problem! I've got some lovely neon orange from making a hat and gloves for DP to run in at night LOL perhaps with green nipples? Grin

What sort of size would you like?

blueberryboybaitonSafari · 27/02/2011 21:32

Any size would be great - we need big and small boobs so no one feels left out in the size dept. I have found that big boobed women choose little ones and flatter chested woman choose the biggest boobs!

I can do a couple too if you don't think you'll have too many.

blueberryboybaitonSafari · 27/02/2011 21:38

Angel - another couple would be fab - just pm me.

Thank you all very much - I think I will have enough boobies now. :) :)

This link looks like the best crochet option I can find Smile

blueberryboybaitonSafari · 27/02/2011 22:46

Purple - as long as it looks like a boob it will be perfect. do you have the correct hook or can I send you one? how much wool do you think it will need?

OP posts:
purplepidjin · 27/02/2011 23:53

I've got lots of hooks, jsut depends what wool I have! Yardage is about 18.5m for one boob, 50g of double knit is 165m. Scraps are fine! Smile

nomoremagnolia · 28/02/2011 10:13

I am happy to do it from the wool I have and I also have a huge bag of toy stuffing I can use a bit of (can't see them needing very much) - so I don't need any money for equipment. Wouldn't say no to some choc though :o

blueberryboybaitonSafari · 28/02/2011 10:20

PM me your address Nomore :)

Purple - poorly kids have prevented me posting to you yet - I will try tomorrow or definitely on MOnday.

Angel - thank you for my boobs :) they are great and they arrived in perfect time for me to take with today and use in a demo for some new mums!

You are welcome! They were fun to knit. I've kept the pattern so feel free to ask if you need any more.

purplepidjin · 04/03/2011 18:30

Blueberry, I've made one but will await materials and send you a nice big package (oo-er) soon Wink

kellestar · 04/03/2011 20:49

I just wanted to add if you look on Ravelry you can find the crochet version of these. Made a dozen in mixed colours while I was pregnant for the BF support group in our village.

You could also ask your local knitting/crochet group, it's how I ended up doing some. Using up scraps of my own.
