card making sets???? You can get an Anita's trunk which has loads of basic card making bits and pieces inside for around £40.

A lot of the sets (candle making, jewellery) are as simple or difficult to make as the child designing them. You could, however, go over to hobbyCraft and get some vouchers or put together packs yourself... some beads and findings for example, and they often have starter sets aimed at all age groups.

A scrapbook starter set would also be ideal.... BetterWare (!) do a good one for under a tenner.

The lasdy (Lorraine) who runs this site takes orders for craft packs to spec... she made me a card pack for a five year old for a fiver, it was great!

after questioning my nine year old - everything! What about the jewellery making kits? The things that Whizz has made are awesome and, I'm sure, manageable. Otherwise, what about getting a storage containter (tool box or similar) and filling it with bits and bobs. Glitter glue pens, paints and brushes, scissors, punches, wiggly eyes, beads, paper... she could use anything with her imagination.
