Is there somewhere you can get a kind of shell to do this, or would you just try and get and old one and recover it?

what size lamp are you thinking of?

BoBoo · 20/02/2011 22:38

Well, I guess lightshade would be more accurate then? I wanted something for a ceiling light - say about 14" in diameter, maybe 6 or 7" deep.

I've got no advice, but I love you.

My MiL recovers old ones as it's much cheaper. Jumble Sales, Boot Sales & Charity Shops would be your best bet.

However [Fred Aldous www.fredaldous.co.uk] may be a good starting point, I've bought many a hard to find haberdashers item from them.

Good Luck!

Thanks kellestar - what an amazing site! It makes me want to start making hundreds of shades.
