How do your store your kids craft materials?

I was wondering if anyone can share how they organise their kids arts & crafts materials.

My son (4) hasn't been hugely into crafts up until now (typical boy) but is starting to get more interested and I'd like to encourage him as much as possible, so I'd like to keep some (pens, paper, glue, collage bits, etc) easily accessible so that he can grab them and make things whenever he wants. At the moment they are all in a cupboard so arts ideas are prompted by me really. I also need to keep messy stuff (paints, glitter pens, etc) out of reach as I have a younger one as well.

How do you organise your stuff?

Ours are in a set of plastic drawers under the stairs. DD's been able to get in and help herself to whatever she likes from about 4ish. There's also a big tin of pens/crayons/stampers etc kept on a low shelf in the kitchen with a big box of scrap paper underneath.
Everything else is under the stairs as it stops little fingers getting into the pva/glitter etc :)

Our kids are 5,4,3. We use ikea trofast drawers/boxes. We have a big red box full of paint and stuff you need to ask before use, then lots of white thin boxes for paper and scissors and pens which they can help themselves to. A photo of the contents stuck on the outside of the box so they then know to put the right stuff in each box. We do this for toys too and it helps stop us from drowning in plastic tut.
