Please recommend me a decent not too £££ sewing machine

I don't need it to do anything fancy eg cutting/finishing edges. Straight and zig-zag stitch and some control over stitch length is fine. I can afford about £100.

Anyone got a recommendation?

TIA x

I've got a Brother LS2125 which suits me fine. I got it in Argos for about £70.

I just make things like curtains & cushions and the odd Clothkits kit so I didn't need anything fancy.

I've also heard good thinks about John Lewis own brand machines.

I think it must be at least 15 years since I've used a sewing machine, and the one I learned on was 1960's vintage or possibly even older. I wonder how much they've changed...?

If you haven't already got your machine, check out Janome machines. They are gaining popularity amongst a lot of quilters. They have high end machines and also some cheaper ones. Not sure what there starting price is but it would be my choice of machine if I had to buy a new one.

Lidl do them for around £50 every now and again. You can sign up to receive emails with their offers if you don't mind waiting til it comes around again?

The seem to have some knitting/sewing stuff coming in again at the moment.

Janome all the way. You can get parts, nice machines and reliable.
